Counters and Statistics

Check to see what your Web site host provides in the way of counters and statistics.

I have had very good reports from Open University students for Bravenets counters

http://sm6.sitemeter.com/default.asp Free stats. I am using this on my Tenerife information site. The only visible bit is the small revolving cube graphic on every page. Lots of stats via there web page, and some free weekly statistics e-mailed to me. GOOD
http://www.goldstats.com/free/ Free stats. I am using this on my Tenerife information site. The only visible bit is the dirty great banner at the top of the home page. This gives me better stats but I would have to put that banner on all my pages to obtain the required information. If you can put up with the banner on every page it would be V GOOD

Keyword tools

http://wordtracker.com WordTracker suggests alternative keywords that you can use on your site, to help promote your site in serch engine listings. You can also obtain by e-mail Wordtracker top 500 keywords currently in use by search engines. There are 2 versions - with or without adult search terms.
http://inventory.overture.com/ suggests alternative keywords that you can use on your site,
http://www.keywordcount.com KeyWordCount counts the more frequently used words on a web page so that you can decide which keywords to use. You can mask words such as: a, the, for. Etc.
http://inventory.overture.com/d/ searchinventory/suggestion/ Keyword Tool. How many times the keyword and related keywords was searched for last month.
http://www.webjectives.com/keyword.htm Keyword Density Analyser
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download.htm http://www.downloads.madaboutpool.com Downloadable Keyword Tool - Provides lots of info.

Site Ranking or Popularity

http://www.stickysauce.com/searchenginetools/ Check out if your meta tags are correclty formatted to allow best search engine placement. The analyzer returns a form with details on your tags and keywords along with any (if any) recommendations and solutions
